Our Staff
Chris Provence/Executive Director. Chris Provence is currently the Executive Director of Rebuilding the Wall, and has lived in the target community for ten years. He served in Operation Desert Storm in Iraq and Operation Restore Hope in Somalia as a Navy Sea-Bee. Before founding RTW Chris co-owned and operated a mortgage company. He was also involved with Jireh Sports, where he developed and coached their wrestling team for four years. Chris is a member of the Christian Community Development Association and a certified Non-Profit Housing Specialist.

Shelley Landis/Thrive Coordinator.Shelley has worked with RTW as a social worker since the Fall of 2005. She graduated from IUPUI's School of Social Work in 1998 and worked in IPS middle schools for three years. Shelley also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer for 15 months in Yuma, AZ. and on the Navajo Reservation in NM. in 2001-2003. Other experience includes partnering with Navajo Environmental Justice groups to begin the first Sierra Club Group in Gallup, NM and working with the Center for Service Learning Opportunities in Education to link Navajo students with the Peace Jam Curriculum studying conflict resolution and peace-making. Shelley is presently a member of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) and plans to attend my fourth annual conference this fall in Miami,Fla. The foundational support that CCDA provides has enabled her to get a firm grip on community development in the urban setting. Working with Rtw and our greater community has enabled her to become a life-long learner andseeker of peace and justice.

Valerie Stombaugh/Administration Assistant.She manages the office and oversees/plans organizational functions and events. Born and raised in Michigan, received a B.A. in Sec. Ed. English and a B.S. in Psychology from Huntington University, and a M.A. in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. Work experience is primarily in the fields of education and counseling - which come in handy when working with the staff at RTW.
Antonio Stokes/Construction Manager Antonio Stokes is currently Rebuilding the Wall's construction manager. He has lived in the community and volunteered with RTW for several years before was hired on staff. His recent qualification for his plumber’s license makes him an even more valuable asset to Rebuilding the Wall's success
Interested in Home Ownership?
Rebuilding the Wall is currently recruiting families interested in being first time homeowners in Citizen's King-Park & Martindale Brightwood Communities. Rebuilding the Wall partners with low income families to help them pursue their dream of first time homeownership. To qualify, families must be currently employed or have a steady source of income and must be able to devote six volunteer hours(per adult)per month toward the construction of their family home.
